- Aethele Khunda has always been heavily involved in research. He has been deputy lead then Co-Lead then Lead for Reproductive Health Research in the North East and North Cumbria (LCRN) since 2015.
- Aethele Khunda has recruited for many NIHR studies and has been the Local Principle Investigator for many studies driving South Tees Hospital to the top of the recruitment table nationally: POPPY (4th), Prep, OPAL (first), SIMS (5th) ANODE (3rd), LOTUS (3rd) , TOPSY (first) and FUTURE.
